On Friday evening three Rohingya women were injured in a lightning strike at the Unchiprang Rohingya refugee camp of Teknaf.

The injured are Harris’s wife Parmina, Syedul Islam’s daughter Sajeda and Majeda of block D-3 of Unchiprang camp.

This information was confirmed by SP Tariqul Islam Tariq, Commander of Cox’s Bazar 18 Armed Police Battalion.

He said the people of the camp rescued the injured and took them to the MSF hospital for treatment. The electric switch and tarpaulin of the house were burnt by lightning. However, no major damage was seen. The situation in the camp area is normal.
