Two infant children died and four others are in critical condition after being injected by government health workers.

On Friday, Community Health Workers along with Hlun Htein personal came to Fakhira Bazar in Maungdaw North where they administered injections to the children in the name of immunisation programme. The health workers and the security personal also told locals at that time the immunisation was compulsory and they did not have any choice in the matter.

Locals allege the children were intentionally killed by government workers.

Later two of the children died on Sunday while at least four others were rushed to the nearby hospital at Shab Bazar. Locals say the local hospital is not well equipped but they cannot go to Maungdaw town because of movement restrictions in place for the Rohingyas.

Also many allege that government hospitals often refuse to take in Muslim patients and hospital staff have a reputation for the coldblooded murder of many Rohingya patients.
