Two Rohingya residents of Aung Lwin Pyin village in Buthidaung Township were reportedly detained by the Arakan Army (AA) on June 21 over allegations of illegally selling cattle, according to local sources.
The detained individuals were identified as:
- Nur Kobir, 37, son of Soyed Nor
- Monir Ahmed, 17, son of Lalu
Sources said a complaint had been filed accusing the two of selling cattle without authorization. Following the complaint, AA authorities reportedly detained them for questioning.
As of the time of reporting, no information was available regarding their condition, whereabouts, or whether formal charges had been filed.
Residents of the village said they were concerned about the situation and were awaiting further information.
No statement from the AA regarding the case was immediately available.
