Arakan Army (AA) members reportedly collected the names of seven Rohingya residents, including three girls under 18, in Moe Daung village in Buthidaung Township on October 31, according to local residents who spoke to Rohingya Khobor.

The residents said the names were collected at around 12:30 p.m. The seven people listed were five female residents aged 16 to 20 and two men aged 19 and 24.

Residents expressed concern that the collection could be linked to recruitment. However, the information available did not establish the purpose of the list or whether those named had been instructed to join the AA, attend training or report elsewhere.

It was also unclear whether anyone had subsequently been summoned or taken away.

Rohingya Khobor is withholding the individuals’ names and family details because the list includes children and publication could expose those named to risk.

Rohingya Khobor could not independently verify the account. No response from the AA was available in the information provided.
