On Thursday (8 June) around 8 pm, miscreants shot and killed a Rohingya man in the Ukhia Rohingya camp of Cox’s Bazar centering the encroaching residences and shops.
The murder took place in Sub Block A/41 area of Block A of Balukhali 8 W camp of Palongkhali Union at around 8 pm on Thursday (June 8).
The deceased is Mansur Alam (30) son of late Nazir Hossain of that block.
According to eyewitnesses, in A/41 Block of Camp 8W, 7-8 armed miscreants shot and killed Mansur after occupying the residence and shop. Later, a team of APBN and police recovered the body of Mansur from the spot and took to a local hospital. There the doctor declared him dead.
The OC Sheikh Mohammed Ali said that in the preliminary investigation, it is known that the killing took place in the opposite area of residence and shop. The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. At present the law and order situation is normal. Legal action against perpetrators is underway.
