The body of a man was found early Wednesday morning in the NRC area of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar, according to local sources and Bangladeshi police.

The deceased was identified as Robi Alam, also known as Rukkah, 39. He was the son of Habibur Rahman and originally from Mochani village.

According to residents, the body was discovered at around 12:15 am on 14 January in the 3 Mowa area covering Blocks C, D, and E of the NRC zone in Teknaf.

Investigation underway

Some local sources alleged that Robi Alam had been involved with an armed or rebel group for several years. However, these claims could not be independently verified, and authorities have not confirmed any such involvement.

The identity of those responsible for his death remains unknown. No group has claimed responsibility, and the motive behind the killing is still unclear.

Later in the morning, at around 10:45 am, members of the Teknaf police arrived at the scene and took the body into custody. It was transported to Teknaf Police Station for further investigation.

Police said they are examining the circumstances surrounding the death and working to determine the cause, as well as identify those involved. Further details are expected once the investigation progresses.

As of the latest update, no arrests have been reported.
