A Rohingya man was seriously injured and three others went missing after a shooting incident on the Naf River near Whykong in Teknaf on Saturday.
The injured man was identified as Aanu, the son of Kala Mia and a resident of Camp 13 in Ukhia. According to local sources, he was fishing from a boat on the Naf River when gunfire reportedly hit the boat.
Aanu suffered serious injuries to his hand and leg. Despite being wounded, he managed to reach the riverbank. Local residents quickly rescued him and took him to a hospital for emergency treatment.
“He was bleeding heavily when he reached the shore. People rushed to help him and took him to the hospital as quickly as possible,” said a local resident.Another resident said, “We are very worried because three people who were with him are still missing. Their families are waiting for news about them.
“The identities of the three missing individuals have not yet been confirmed. Local people said search efforts are continuing, but their whereabouts remain unknown.
Authorities have not yet released any official statement regarding the incident. The condition of the injured man is also not immediately known.
