Repatriation of Rohingya refugees to Bangladesh is being prolonged due to internal reasons in Myanmar, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang told this to AK Abdul Momen.
The foreign minister said this to the journalists after the discussion program on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Homecoming Day at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
China’s new foreign minister Qin Gang stopped in Dhaka on his way to Africa at midnight on Monday. At this time he was welcomed by the Foreign Minister at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. They had a brief meeting at the VIP lounge of the airport during the layover.
AK Momen related that the Chinese foreign minister visited Dhaka within 10 days of taking charge. Regarding the Rohingya crisis, the Chinese foreign minister said that there are some problems in Myanmar, due to which the repatriation of the Rohingya is being prolonged. They said that if this crisis is prolonged, instability will be created in the region.
