Introduction:

In a tragic turn of events on November 16, a Rohingya teacher hailing from Thet Min Chaung village experienced a life-altering ordeal. While on his way to Pa Zung Chaung village in Buthidaung, the educator lost both of his legs in a devastating landmine detonation. This incident has brought to light the dangerous circumstances faced by the Rohingya community, with locals alleging that both the Arakan Army (AA) and the State Administration Council (SAC) are responsible for planting landmines in and around their villages.

The Victim:

The victim, a dedicated teacher in Buthidaung Township, fell victim to the hidden dangers that lurk in the region. The loss of his limbs not only poses a personal tragedy but serves as a stark reminder of the broader implications of conflict on the lives of ordinary individuals.

Allegations and Local Claims:

Disturbingly, local residents claim that both the AA and the SAC have been actively involved in burying landmines around the villages, turning civilian areas into minefields. If substantiated, these allegations point to the indiscriminate impact of the conflict on innocent civilians, exacerbating the challenges already faced by the Rohingya population.

Treatment and Rehabilitation:

In the aftermath of the explosion, the injured teacher is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital of the State Military Council in Buthidaung Township. This incident underscores the immediate need for medical assistance and rehabilitation support for those affected by such tragic events.

Call for Investigation:

The incident has sparked a call for a comprehensive investigation to determine the culpability of those responsible for planting landmines in civilian areas. Such actions not only violate international humanitarian laws but also worsen the already dire humanitarian crisis faced by the Rohingya community in the region. The international community is urged to take notice and advocate for a transparent inquiry into these allegations.

Conclusion:

As we reflect on this harrowing incident, our hearts go out to the Rohingya teacher who has lost both of his legs. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the region and highlights the imperative to protect civilian lives. It is a collective responsibility to demand justice, accountability, and an end to the use of landmines in areas inhabited by innocent civilians. The plight of this educator must not be forgotten, and his tragedy should propel us all to work towards a safer and more secure future for the Rohingya community.
