A Rohingya security guard working for Islamic Relief Bangladesh was seriously injured after unidentified armed men reportedly entered a shelter warehouse in Camp 3 during the night.

Cox’s Bazar, 31 August 2026: A Rohingya security guard working for Islamic Relief Bangladesh was shot in the neck while on night duty at the organisation’s shelter warehouse in Camp 3 on the night of 29 August, according to information received by Rohingya Khobor.
The injured man was identified as Abdul Goffor, son of Md Sultan.
According to the information available, a group of armed men entered the warehouse area at night and attempted to load and move shelter materials stored there.
The materials had reportedly been kept at an Islamic Relief facility near Camp 4 and an area under the 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
During the incident, Goffor was shot in the neck. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
Goffor lives in Camp 3, Block A. He is originally from Aye Aung San Raphew village, Nammay Sector One, Maungdaw Township, Arakan State.
It remains unclear who carried out the shooting, whether the attackers succeeded in taking any materials, and what led to Goffor being shot.
No further information about his medical condition was immediately available.
