Bangladesh’s special force captures half brother of ARSA leader

Today, Bangladesh police have announced that they were able to track down and arrest the brother of a rebel group leader whose organisation is behind the murders and drug trafficking in Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar.

Yesterday, the arrestee, Mohammad Shah Ali, was captured by the Bangladesh Armed Police Battalion in Cox’s Bazar. Ali is the half-brother of ARSA’s infamous leader Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi.

Last year, on 29th September, after the murder of one of the Rohingya leaders, Mohibullah, the refugee camps in Bangladesh have become very vicious due to peak crime rates.
