Education systems in the camps

I am Shahana Akhter, age 17, Camp: 26, block: H, Teknaf, Cox’s bazer.

Education is the most important thing for human beings. It is a continuous and life long process. It brings a great change in our life. Life becomes prosperous and meaningful. It is the foundation of human development. It is said that education is the third eye of human beings.

The term education system generally refers to public schooling, not private schooling and more commonly to kindergarten through high School programs. Schools are typically the smallest longest form of” education system” and countries are the largest. The education systems in the camp seems to be limited. The educational system in camp is two tiered and Lowly subsidized.

The UNHCR of camp operates many schools in the primary and junior levels. There are a total of 12 primary School and one Junior school in the camp. Presently, UNHCR is taking many in initiatives to encourage the children to get into primary education such as;

1. Providing books free of cost.
2. Primary education is concluded with class to five public examination known as primary school certificate.

There are no higher education in the camp. So students cannot go to higher position due to lack of higher education. As a result , almost all the students are engaged in bad deeds and child marriage is on the rise.

Our future generations are being harmed because we are deprived of higher education in the camps. The education system in the campus is not very good. So it is very important to provide higher education in our camps. Though there are many many problems in our education system currently we are improving day by day.
