Six members of a Rohingya refugee family were hospitalized after reportedly consuming snacks suspected of being poisoned in Camp-1E of the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, according to local sources.
Sources said that a man visited his father-in-law’s shelter and brought snacks for family members. Shortly after eating the snacks, six people reportedly lost consciousness.
The victims were initially taken to a BRAC health facility in the camp for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of their condition, they were later referred to Cox’s Bazar District Hospital for further medical care.
The affected family belongs to Abul Kalam (FCN: 134808), who resides in Shelter ID C01E-B03-112A in Block B, Sub-block B03 of Camp-1E. The family consists of ten members and falls under the supervision of Majhi Aman Ullah.
The cause of the incident has not yet been officially confirmed. Authorities are expected to investigate whether the food was contaminated accidentally or intentionally.
No official statement has been released regarding the condition of the victims at the time of reporting.
