Officials from the United League of Arakan (ULA) held a meeting on Saturday afternoon at an Arabic school in Mingalar Gyi village, Maungdaw Township, where they announced that Rohingya households would be required to contribute to a fund known as the “National Fund,” according to local sources.
The meeting began at around 2:30 p.m. and was attended by approximately 50 people, including village administrators, community elders, and mosque teachers. Around 10 ULA representatives, including the commander of Area 3 and members of a jury committee, were also present.
According to attendees, ULA officials said the money collected through the National Fund would be used for public services and community development projects.
No fixed contribution was announced for individual households. However, officials said every Rohingya household would be required to contribute, while allowing families to decide the amount based on what they could afford.
Local residents said they are awaiting further information on how the fund will be collected, administered, and used.
