On 06 July 2026, eight Rohingya refugees, including women and children, were killed in three separate landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in the Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. In Camp-15, Camp-11, and Camp-7.
The landslide has left the community in deep sorrow. Families, neighbors, and humanitarian workers gathered at the scene throughout the rescue operation, while emergency teams worked to assist those affected.
The incident has highlighted the danger of landslides during the monsoon season in the Rohingya camps. Authorities and humanitarian agencies continue to monitor the situation and support the affected families.
